State and Local Officials Joined Tri-County Housing for a Ribbon-Cutting at Newly Renovated Home in New Cumberland

NEW CUMBERLAND (October 25, 2024) The nonprofit Tri-County Housing joined state, county and borough officials in cutting the ribbon on a new homeownership project at 215 Eutaw (pronounced “Utah”) Avenue in New Cumberland Borough in Cumberland County, bringing new life to a formerly blighted property along a quiet residential street.

A future project will complement this semi-detached home when a new duplex is built on the adjacent lot.

In today’s ribbon-cutting, Tri-County Housing revealed a substantial renovation of a semi-detached home, which features two stories, a full basement, four bedrooms, one and one-half baths, and modern appliances and amenities, spanning approximately 2,000 square feet of finished living space. The expected selling price is $159,900.

The adjacent property will also offer attainable housing, thanks to an innovative subdivision plan devised after the renovation started. That duplex is expected to be completed in the fall of 2025.

Gary Lenker, Tri-County Housing’s Executive Director, will also announce his next new homeownership venture, slated for neighboring Lemoyne Borough, at Friday’s ribbon-cutting.

The Eutaw Avenue project received a Cumberland County HOME grant of $316,236. The new construction of the duplex on the adjacent lot received PHFA’s PHARE funding of $400,000 and DCED’s Neighborhood Assistance Program funding in the amount of $225,000.

Guests on hand included State Rep. Sheryl Delozier; Cumberland County Commissioner Gary Eichelberger; Mary Kuna, Executive Director, Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Cumberland County; and New Cumberland Mayor Joan Erney.
