TRI-COUNTY HOUSING DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION SEVENTH ANNUAL GOLF OUTING FUNDRAISER

Dauphin County, PA — The Tri-County Housing Development Corporation held its seventh annual golf outing fundraiser Tuesday, giving its first-ever Housing Advocate Champion Award to State Sen. John DiSanto.

Organizers say State Sen. DiSanto helped secure over $500,000 in state funds for Harrisburg’s Hummel Street Project as well as another $500,000 in federal funds to alleviate funding gaps from rising costs of lumber and building materials.

Inflation is only adding to the struggling low-to-moderate income families are facing, according to officials.

“The need’s never going to go away 100% in today’s economic climate,” State Sen. John DiSanto told CBS 21 News’ Samantha York. “And the utility costs rising, there’s a real challenge out there for people to stay in safe, warm, cool affordable housing.”

State Sen. DiSanto says finding affordable housing will be a growing issue in the years to come as a result of the high cost of living.

The Golf outing was a huge success and fun was had by all.
