FREE FIRST-TIMEHomebuyer Classes
At Tri-County Housing Development, we're excited to offer essential support for first-time homebuyers through our free monthly course. This eight-hour counseling class addresses key topics, such as mortgages, credit budgeting, and general aspects of homeownership. Upon completion, attendees will receive a certificate that qualifies them for down payment and closing cost assistance opportunities when purchasing their first home.
Please note that pre-registration is required for this course, which aims to pre-qualify prospective homebuyers for a Pennsylvania Housing Financing Agency (PHFA) mortgage loan. Our Executive Director, Gary Lenker, emphasizes the importance of homeownership in building lives and families and looks forward to the positive impact of our expanded community services.
Classes are held In-Person from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays (click the link below for 2024 dates). Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate children during class time. There will be Free Parking in the PHFA garage, in addition to breakfast pastries and lunch will be provided for all attendees. Failure to attend without 48 hour notice and same-day cancellations will result in a three-month restriction. There will be no exceptions. If you were a no-call/no-show for a workshop in the past three (3) months, your registration will automatically be revoked.
